Three-Piece Bit
A three-piece bit is one of the most commonly used and appreciated bits among riders – both for young horses and experienced competition pairs. It consists of three parts: two side pieces and a middle piece, often called an “olive link”, “peanut” or “ball joint”. The construction ensures that the pressure is evenly distributed over the tongue and bars, providing a softer and more responsive contact between horse and hand compared to a two-piece bit.
